Happy October! Here’s my recommendations for everything from your weekend casual date, Netflix binge, friend hang, and babysitting distraction. If you’re looking for something good to watch while snuggled with a blanket and drinking tea/coffee/whiskey on a beautiful fall weekend, I’m your girl.
The Imitation Game
I saw this movie in the theaters when it came out. It’s really fascinating and the acting is wonderful. It’s a great mix of nerdy-science stuff/history/hollywood eye candy. It was a surprisingly good date movie too. I’m psyched it’s on Netflix. If you’re looking for a movie to watch this weekend, give The Imitation Game a shot.
Created by: Dianne Ruggiero, Rob Thomas
Starring: Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, David Anders, Aly Michalka, Robert Buckley
iZombie is a fun graphic novel adaptation. Rose McIver is charming as our un-dead doctor turned medical examiner. Currently, there are two seasons on Netflix for your bingeing pleasure. Fear not, iZombie is filming their third season right now, it should be out in early 2017.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
I love Kimmy. This is a great show when you don’t want to take anything too seriously, but laugh all the same. Interestingly enough, this show was originally written for network television, so it has a delightful innocence not usually seen in Netflix originals.
Iliza Shlesinger – Confirmed Kills (2016)
If you haven’t checked out her previous specials, you should. Iliza is comedy bae.
For the kiddies
Inspector Gadget (2015)
There is a cool new Inspector Gadget animated series. It’s my go-to when hanging out with tiny humans. It’s silly and fun. If you are hanging with tiny humans, I highly recommend watching it.
Check back on Monday to see what I watched this weekend. Happy Friday!
