Drum roll please (insert you drumrolling on your knees, or drum set if you’re super cool)…..

This Friday’s recommendations for your weekends Netflix & Chill.

Movie

SPOTLIGHT (2015)
Directed by: Tom McCarthy
Written By: Josh Singer and Tom McCarthy

This is an important movie. Everyone should watch it. It makes me proud and not proud to be from Boston. It makes me feel sad, happy and lucky all at the same time. It won Best Picture & Best Screenplay, and deservedly so. It is so unbelievably worth your time.

Television Show

Lie to Me (2009-2011)
Created by Samuel Baum
Starring: Tim Roth, Kelli Williams

Neat little procedural based on the  work of Dr. Paul Ekman and his work with microexpressions. It is fascinating and Tim Roth never disappoints me. There (sadly) was only three seasons. But they are all on Netflix and make for a fun weekend watch.

Netflix Original

Orange is the New Black (2013-)
Creator: Jenji Kohan
Starring: Taylor Schilling, Danielle Brooks, Uzo Aduba, Laura Prepon

This is a repeat from last week, but I don’t care. Everyone needs to watch this season. It is the best season by far. Mind blown, heart destroyed.

Comedy Special

Iliza Shlesinger: Freezing Hot (2015)

Guys, this is something to watch if you want to maybe understand your girlfriend, as a lady. Also, Iliza is a fellow Emerson alum, funny as hell and this is a good time. Okay? Just watch it.

You can also check this week’s #TBT POST to get a good recommendation for some weekend nostalgia & good times.
